Health Tips for Busy Entrepreneurs

“The greatest wealth is health.” - Virgil

Whenever I see quotes on health and fitness, I wonder if busy entrepreneurs even have the time to digest those quotes. If you have ever tried your hands on running a personal business, whatever kind it maybe, you will agree with me that the first thing at stake is your mental health.

Entrepreneurs are powerful people, just because they have a heart with a bone attached to it. Whether they are winning or not, the ability to create something, try their possible best to sell it and make profit in an economy that frustrates literary everyone, is a big deal.

But in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, there remains the need to stay alive and for that to happen, one needs to take care of their health and that includes mental health, physical and spiritual health

This blog post, is dedicated to every hard working entrepreneur out there, doing the most. Here is a list of tips for your health and fitness, enjoy.

1. Drop the sugar: When you are out there doing your "market runs" and dropping those pitches, the easiest way to refresh yourself is usually by getting your hands on a bottle of soda. You know that ice cold soda to cool your ever active brain under the sun or while brainstorming? Yes, as refreshing as it makes you feel in the moment, you actually have to eliminate it, if you want to function better.

The best way to eliminate sugar is to replace it with something even better, which is water. Sugar is highly addictive and causes spike in insulin, which is linked to fat storage. You should also reduce the intake of baked foods, pastries and focus on eating whole foods, making sure to avoid anything that comes in a package and says fat free.

2. Get quality sleep: You might be one of those who subscribe to the infamous motivational quote by Steve Harvey that says "rich people do not sleep eight hours a day". While this quote was intended to push people to get off their lazy asses and work more, as an entrepreneur, you need to routine yourself to get quality sleep as it helps to heal and repair your body.

Quality sleep for an entrepreneur means better decision making, ability to control your emotions, increased problem solving skills and general alertness. You cannot compare your lifestyle to that of someone with a 9-5 job, you are different.

3. Exercise: Before you convince yourself that you do not have enough time for exercises, I need you to remember that it takes as little as 5 to 30 minutes of workout a day, to achieve physical fitness. From stretches to push ups, to weight lifting, once you your body is used it, you can increase and incorporate new training to help keep your body in one piece as you engage in your daily activities.

4. Have sex: Lord, if I could take this part out, I would, but truth is controversial. You probably don't know that having sex can offer a healthy self-esteem boost, yes ke. Feeling sexually satisfied can help anyone feel better about themselves, but that's not the only way intercourse boots confidence.

Because sex is such a fundamental function of humanity, not having it as often as one likes can actually lead to angst and self doubt in even the most normally confident individuals. As an entrepreneur, self-confidence is extremely important and a healthy sex life will help to boost that confidence that you need.

5. Meditate: Meditation improves cognition. Entrepreneurs need to be able to think quickly and process multiple pieces of information at almost the same time.  Practicing mindful meditation will help you increase your focus and ability to think with a sense of clarity that leads to improved decision making. Make mediation a part of your lifestyle.

And that is it for now. I hope you found this enlightening and interesting. Do not forget to subscribe, like and share this post to your friends.

Love & light,

Nina♥

Now You Know Life.

The beauty of being a child is not knowing responsibility. Your survival is not in your hands, neither is the survival of your loved ones. You simply exist! At the stage of adolescence, you roam with pride of quick knowledge. You think you are wiser and "woke" compared to your parent or guardian. Time and again, you get into situations that give you the false feeling of independence and responsibility towards decisions that affect you; how you want to dress, the name you'd rather go by, the hairstyle that befits the contour of your face, the friends you keep. These and more create a falsehood of the knowledge of life and all that it entails. But isn't life humbling to those who think they know it all? A step into adulthood is the most exciting, yet horrific reality an individual can face depending on several circumstances. You have gone from knowing it all, to being plainly confused. Now there are expectations and responsibilities you might not have been warned about ...

When Do We Become The Boring Half?

So lately I have been thinking seriously on marital issues and while it is not the first time I'm thinking about such deep maters, my focus, or should I call it recent concern, has been about boring couples, actually, boring wives. After allowing work take the better of me for years, I began to socialise more early last year. I went out more to places like clubs, the beach, swimming and birthday parties of friends. In that time, I discovered that I really knew how to have fun and not just be the workaholic I was slowly turning into then. Going out mostly at night exposed me to a lot. The nightlife in Lagos is perhaps just as busy as the day life only that this time, people were 'working hard' to relax and enjoy the money they sweated for. It is usually where you see the Queens and Kings of the night, gracing the streets, bars and clubs to entertain the mere mortals of the day. Honestly, it is always fun. But looking back at the calibre of people I have had the opportunity ...

Soro Soke With Your Full Chest

What a time to be a Nigerian youth, what a time indeed to be alive. The past week has seen Nigerian youth in their most unified form, speaking up, walking the walk and seeking the exact same thing, an end to police brutality and the devil's arm of the Nigerian police force known as SARS. The slang "Soro Soke" was originated by popular Yoruba actress Toyin Afolayan also known as Lola Idije. The phrase means "Speak Louder", the slang got viral on Twitter when a fan wrote it on one of FC Bayern Munich's post and has now become one of the most famous slangs used in the ongoing protest by Nigerian youths. I am extremely proud of the progress of my generation, the so-called "lazy youth" have made. For years the Nigerian government have lotted, embezzled funds, trampled on the constitutional right of the citizens and did so, with so much recklessness, showing no concern how their actions and inaction affects the lives of people. While this protest stemmed...
